Shea butter is extracted from the Shea-nut tree, its homeland is West-Africa. However what is important for a good shea-butter cream and how is it produced?
Qualitative shea-butter should be unrefined. In the production of unrefined shea-butter the butter is extracted in a traditional way without synthetic ingredients. After collecting the shea nuts, they become stacked until they have reached an optimal maturity level. Is these maturity level reached, the nuts become pressed and the extracted press-cake becomes heated up to 50-60°C. Thanks to the heat the mass becomes liquid and loosens from the shells. Now the precious shea butter can be siphoned. After cool down a white cream is left ? real good shea butter cream. In this gentle production all the valuable substances are conserved.
